The arable farming company Geerse, based in Koudekerke, Walcheren, has been using an AP-Lift harvesting unit on their Amac ZM-2 since 2023.
Geerse family grows consumer potatoes in both heavy and light soils and have decided not to gamble on good weather in the fall of 2023. The AP-LIFT system will be built on the AMAC ZM2, allowing this machine to be used in all conditions for years to come.
Chris Geerse has been in the business for more than 40 years, part of which was as a potato buyer for McCain. He firmly believes the AP-LIFT system is the solution to many harvesting problems he encounters along the way. Mainly because the potato bed is not depressed by the diabolo rollers, which leads to slinging and clod formation under wet clay conditions. Also, foliage can no longer get around the chisels and the digging mat stays above the ground, resulting in higher efficiency and less wear and tear
No longer gambling on bad weather
Chris Geerse shares his experiences with the AP-LIFT system on the AMAC ZM2 in the video below. He indicates that without the AP-LIFT system, it would have been impossible to harvest the last 8 acres of potatoes last year due to weather conditions. In the end, Chris expresses his satisfaction with the purchase, emphasizing how essential the system was to his farming operations.
